All the books are now upgraded to hard covers, and a behind the scenes will be included in the books for the Making of Lunarbaboon! We're approaching the $70,000 mark which will upgrade the card stock to the game. Oh and we almost forgot...

Funded In Hours and Blowing Past Stretch Goals (Pics Inside!)

Welcome all you Baboons to the 1st Update. We’re funded! Thank you to the hundreds of backers who have made this all possible within hours. It is a truly incredible feeling to work on something for years and then finally unleash it to the world never knowing if anyone will love it or hate it. The time that we each spent into developing these products for fans was countless and your support is truly unwavering! We’re sure each and every one of you have your own reason for backing the project, maybe someone’s a loving parent, or you’re looking for something cute to serve as a reminder that you’ll never let your anxiety beat you, maybe you want a game night with the kids, or a new way to teach the kids their ABC’s? Well, whatever your reason, we are sure that you’re going to love every minute you spent with the new offerings from Lunarbaboon.

Now we can move to even more fun announcements. As everyone knows, we’ve far surpassed our Funding Goal and have already blown past all our Day One stretch goals which is SUPER awesome and thanks to you amazing backers! We are running this campaign slightly different than many campaigns you may be used to. As most goals are unlocked, we will be sharing their progress that has been worked on behind the scenes as we are hard at work every day making sure we’re caught up with the progress of the campaign which is something important to us!

First on the list, is the Quickstart Guide for the Game. In this quick-start guide we will be utilizing the newly posted image to be implemented into the game in a more unique format once we go into production. As you’ll notice this is different than the original how to play which was just text but something that will let you get to jump right into the game within moments of opening the box. We know some nights with the kids can be exhausting and we wanted to make a game that would be super easy to jump into and have fun with the whole family!

Second and third on the list are component upgrades. We’ve already informed the respective factories that the paper stock is being upgraded for the book, and a sample is currently being made which we expect to have in time to show you before the campaign ends. The Dice are something we’ve now also upgraded in size.

We wanted to ask you backers if you would prefer the dice design to stay exactly the same or for us to explore engraving options with simpler graphics? We will be looking often for backer feedback on a lot of items to see we make a product you can all be involved in and love from start to finish!

Next on the list is the Anxiety Troll plush tag. Originally a double sided tag with just our cute design (if we do say so ourselves), and the barcode, it will now be upgraded to have an open folding tag like a story book. See pictures below. Inspirational story isn’t finalized but this is the idea we’re going for. Please comment below if you would like to see something that would make the anxiety troll mean even more to you? How do you want to overcome any negative feelings in life that cause your troll. Share with us, we’re listening to all your voices right now and always.

Speaking of the Anxiety Troll, we’ve been hard at work on more art and have an awesome card to show you. Many have asked what the collectible card will be, well it won’t only be a foil card but it may even be double sided as a wild card. Here’s a work in progress of where it’s at now.

Lastly, we’re just a bit away from reaching the comic included in the game (we’ll make sure to include one in the ABC’s book too, don’t worry!) and while we’re not there yet now would be a great time to share the campaign and get some friends on board. While you’re doing this, it’s about that time to brainstorm what you backers would like to see in this comic. We will be taking into account all suggestions and making a very special custom comic for all of you to enjoy! 

Aside from the Stretch Goals, we ALSO have Guest Artist Stretch Goals. Having blown past numerous already we’ve unlocked guest artist cards for the Unipegasaurus, flying from the pages of our other game Pretending to Grownup (which you can add as an add-on in your pledge by just increasing your pledge amount by $25 - instructions below), we’ve also thought that Neil King from Monsters in a Box would be a perfect fit to help bring new life to the Anxiety Troll. Then to bring about another famous webcartoonist, James “Moonbeard” Squires we knew was a no brainer. We then have our famous Wargi from our game Peasant Buffet which also happens to be another Stuffimals Plush, so watch out for his battle cries! Then let’s not forget one of Golden Bell’s first artists Amber Icenhour, and Ryan from Space Kittayz, an awesome rhyming children’s book that’s in the works at Golden Bell’s Polar Press. We would love to know your top requested guest artists, and we can try reaching out to them, or if you have a favorite artist you really want to see in this game, lets talk about it and see what we can do!

On to the Social Achievements! We’ve unlocked a few achievements already. We’ve gotten 1097 shares, 500 backers, and 1,000 likes. We’ll keep close track of everything on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter so it’s up to you, the backers, to get this thing really trending. Share it on your lunchbreak, at conference meetings, wherever you want, let’s make this campaign something everyone will talk about! As every 5 achievements are unlocked, we will be debuting a Kickstarter Exclusive Comic and if we can unlock ALL the stretch goals there will be a surprise for everyone involved in the Kickstarter that you won’t be able to live without. So keep sharing :)

New Game Modes Unveiled! + More Guest Art Enclosed :)

Hey all you Baboons!

It's a mighty late update but we wanted to get this out to you so you can spend your Monday doing something actually fun! Well at least at your lunch break maybe? What with blowing past our $55,000 stretch goal! Two of the next three goals are component upgrades but there is one that will be unlocked for a Behind the Scenes, and we have some funnnnnny (or at least fun?) videos to show you of all of us having a wild time!

We'll be getting started in a minute but everyone remember we added a brand new reward tier in the last update bringing Lunarbaboon Volume 1 and Volume 2 Comics into a Glorious Collectible Hardcover Edition! You can grab the entire package now at the $99 pledge tier so don't miss out we only have a week or so left to go so stay tuned always!

Before we unveil the expansions the newest play set that we're happy to announce is CO-OP! That's right, you'll now be able to not only play as JUST the kids driving your parents crazy but you'll be able to play as the two crazy kids running rampant around the house and play against the Parents who are sure looking to ground you to your room, so beware... because these new modes are going to really spice up your family game night!

All these modes are ready to be played and if anyone would like FIRST ACCESS (as part of your pledge) please post in the comments and we'll get this available as part of the Print and Play. All the testing has been completed and the guest art has been swarming in as you've all seen so it is really exciting to see this come together!

FUN NOTE: The Anxiety Troll plush is now gearing up for Mass Manufacturing and will be made the day the campaign's funds arrive roughly two weeks after the campaign. We are aiming to get the Troll's in time for the holidays to the Solo Troll Backers and will have an option in Backerkit to expedite shipping to separate your Troll pledge from the Game pledge if you'd like. This has been a big request we've had and are going to honor!

Anxiety Troll Expansion:

1. The Anxiety Troll Expansion brings an added rule to the table: +1 card to everyone's hand (so, instead of 3 cards, you get to hold 4). Trust us, you're gonna need it!

2. The expansion will have its own deck. At the start of their turn, players will draw a card that will affect specific characters. (ie. Bully at School may only be able to played on one of the kids, where as not getting the promotion may affect only the parents)

3. The cards themselves will have game effects on gameplay such as affecting the Tantrum Die, the number of Chaos Cubes, or advancing the kids/parents up and down the Insanity Scale. 

4. A co-op mode where one player can play as the Anxiety Troll and mess with other players, while they try to combat their deepest darkest anxieties.

5. A solo mode area control type game where players takes on the role of the Anxiety Troll.

Outing Expansion:

Extra player mats/sheets with new locations! Each will have their own scoring. You'll finally be able to escape the rooms in that four walled prison you call a home and move on to bigger and better places. What locations would you backers like to see? Comment below and we'll make sure to take that into account. Some of the current locations we have so far are the Supermarket, a Doctor's office, a Classroom, and the Beach!

Other Location Examples We've Had in Mind

• Mall
• Amusement Park
• Clothing Store
• Restaurant
• Movie Theater
• A Mansion, a rich friend's home that's decorated with very expensive fragile things
• Your Neighbors House (this is how the expansion actually came to fruition), it was originally called the Neighbors Expansion!
• The Park

Pet Expansion:

1. Comes with a unique deck and cat/dog meeple. We'll let the backers decide whether they like Lunarbaboons' Cat, Dog, or maybe his Baboon more!

2. When placed in a room, the pet will shuffle the chaos cubes around the house

3. This expansion works best for 3 players (or more)

Neighbor/Babysitter Expansion:

Send the kids to the neighbors and watch them raise some chaos. Play as the kids and wreak as much havoc as possible before getting caught by the neighbor and kicked out of their house, OR, take on the role of the neighbor who's had enough of these kids and get them out before your nice house is ruined! You'll have two fun modes to explore here!

The "Family Gathering" Expansion:

Aunt and Uncle came to visit... and they brought the fun cousins!

+ Aunt and Uncle tokens (acts as parent tokens) + 2 Cousin tokens (acts as kid tokens) 

This allows the game to be playable with eight players for a real fun wild and crazy romp!

Extra Game Mode Expansion:

Parents can now ground kids in a room so they have more time to clean up. Kids can also utilize the power of the sugar rush to make more of a mess even faster. Who will come out on top in this ridiculous run around the house before bedtime!

We've done something special, or a little bit crazy, maybe a bit of both actually...

We've decided to not only increase the card count of the game and start debuting the expansion cards, but we're adding guest artists at every $2,500 raised instead of every $5,000 interval. Here are some of the top most famous webcomic cartoonists added, some you'll know, others you should now know! They are sure to wow you and bring an extra flava-flave to the game that would have been missing without them! We hope you love the new cards and the new creators we're bringing like Reza from Poorly Drawn Lines, Zach of Extra Fabulous Comics, James from Moonbeard, and many many more! Poster (Front Side)

We wanted to show off one side of the poster, yup... you heard that right! The poster will now be DOUBLE sided! Abigail Rae from Golden Bell's The Valiard Mansion did such an AMAZING job at painting her card, that we decided it had to be something more and what better fit for making it one of the sides to the poster that you can hang up on your lonely wall. We'll be working more on what the next side of the poster will be super soon!

Stretch Goals

As far as where we are on the stretch goals? See for yourself below! We're blowing past everything and opened up the $50,000 tier a bit early to surprise everyone because we just couldn't wait anymore. We made the announcement at New York Comic Con and we've been getting bombarded with requests to open up this tier early so we could only do what was asked of us :) we hope everyone is excited to see Lunarbaboon back in print!

For the newest stretch goals unlocked...

• The comic included in the game can either be Backer Voted of what you'd like to see most ("The Best of Lunarbaboon", a Preview to Volume 3 of Lunarbaboon, or a newly created comic that ties into all the Lunarbaboon products and Golden Bell!) - Comment below on what you'd like to see or private message us and we'll tally it up!
• The Dust Jacket is completely designed and we're just waiting for Chris to finish up drawing each of us in the Lunarbaboon style to insert it for everyone to see us :)
• The card stock for the game cards has now been upgraded! Woo celebrate good times!
